Earl Shilton is situated on the A47 between Hinckley and Leicester. It is in desperate need of a bypass as it is the main bottleneck between Leicester and Coventry.
There has been a bypass planned for Earl Shilton since 1936.However, in 1999 it was announced that we would not get a bypass until at least 2008. Therefore in September 1999 the Earl Shilton Bypass Action Group was set up. This is a non-political residents group with just one objective. To secure the construction of the Earl Shilton bypass at the earliest opportunity.
